Not sure if this has already been covered by US 'lithers, but I couldn't find it anywhere, so...
...watched this the other night (admittedly on a dodgy VCD, but the quality was OK) and was SORELY FUCKING DISAPPOINTED.
Not a shit movie, by any stretch of the imagination, but a mediocre one. They've turned one of the few comics that's really impressed me in recent years from an extended meditation on psychogeography into a reasonable serial killer movie. And Johnny Depp's accent... fuck. (Don't get me wrong... I like the guy, and he plays his part REALLY well... it's just the accent.)
I'll go see it at the cinema, just because I think it'll work better as a total immersion big/loud experience... but boy, was I looking forward to that, and boy, do I feel kind of let down. |
