Who could Cage play instead of Constantine?

So Nicolas Cage, a hollywood Name, is interested in doing a comic movie. Suggest a comic character that he could play well.

I’ll start. Morpheus. Cage is tall and skinny enough, and since Morpheus is simply inscrutable, you could just paint Cage white and let the makeup do the acting.

Perfect casting! And with his worldwide goth fan-club, he taps directly into the market base for the film, and...

Oh, sorry. I thought you said Nick Cave...

Kathy, out of Shade. If they did cross-gender casting.

Waah. Sacrilege. That's worse than him playing Constantine... Or am I thinking of Lenny?

Cage should play someone incredibly hammy, with a receding hairline. The Green Goblin maybe.

Hey, how about Nick Cage as Luke Cage?

Kamandi, the last boy on earth.

Or that monkey on the back of Devil Dinosaur.

Or OMAC.

The Shadow. Better than the Baldwin. And he already has the nose.

Yes. Yes, yes, yes. Cage as any of Kirby's Late 70's, post New Gods superheroes. Throw in The Demon and Captain Victory.

Y'know, he really WOULD make a damn fine Jason Blood. Etrigan would have to be Vincent D'Onofrio, though.

I'd love to see him do Plasticman, too.

OR, any of the other members of the Trenchcoat Brigade - Mr. E would be really fun to watch. The Phantom Stranger he might be a bit too, well, talkative for. But Dr. Occult would be interesting.

or Rose...

Captain Zoom

How about Rebis?

Zoom.

Mr Tricks

Doctor Strange... maybe.

NAMOR????...imagine hime in a thong & little wings on his feet...

He would make a great IRONMAN.... maybe???

Dr. Occult would depend on who played ROSE.

HOURMAN... the original, playing up the "junkie" potential... I guest we could splice it with the new future version...

I think you're thinking of Lenny, who I'll agree Cage couldn't play. But Kathy is loyal & quiet, like the bloke out of "It Could Happen To You", and yet goes a bit psycho occasionally, like the bloke out of Face/Off. Hence, Nic Cage. Really.

And Alyson Hanigan could play Shade. Because... um... because she's ginger.

It's almost painfully obvious.

Nick Cage, baldy beaky actor type.

Luke Cage, Power Man.

Obviously, they'd have to change the character around a bit, but in principle...

Yes. Making him white and ugly, for starters. Luke Cage... White Trash Mutha!

That was sort of the point. Like making Constantine American.

The perfect role:

Nic Cage as . . . the actor who STAYS THE FUCK OUT of any comic-related movies!

Or, failing that, he should play the first cop to cross Marv's path if they ever make a Sin City movie.

Nah. They ain't identifiably British, and are basically weird skinny guys in rumpled suits. Except Mr. E, whose suit is spotless.

Nick Cage - Blue Beetle! Scott Marvel! I could buy either of those.

He's signed on the dotted line according to SFX magazine.

Starts shooting on March the 1st. To be directed by Tarsem Singh, written by Frank Capello and produced by the Donners who apparently did the X-men
