I think Parliament Of Fonz is thinking in terms of a kind of spell... sort of focussing on a 'Spaced 3' sigil to make the next series arrive faster. Or not. Hang on, I'll ask him.

Miaow. Claws out for your 1st post.
Lighten up guys, it's just TV - but if we wish hard enough, brush our teeth every day, make onanistic love to doodles or simply just believe, then it can happen.

My claws are trimmed and smooth... I wasn't getting bitchy so apologies if I sounded like it.

But still, it baffles me how people can post up as fact that which is clearly a blatent lie. We all had a good laugh about that on our Spaced Forum.

Reeeeeeally sorry, I truly haven't come here to cause offence. Honest!

On a lighter note... Filming for Big Train 2 is nearly here... yaaaaaayy !!! etc...

Loads of love,
Tiger

I just finished watching the first two seasons on DVD, which were brilliant, and was wondering if there's any actual news on a third season?

On the series itself, the whole thing was great, I really loved the characters and the evolution of their relationships. A few of my favorite moments were the dog rescue sequence, the whole clubbing episode, particularly Tyres dancing the household sounds, Tim and Daisy dancing at the end of series 1, Tim shouting "Buffy" as he wakes up, the Empire Strikes Back ending of episode six and the whole last episode which was really sweet, yet still funny.

Went to a talk about film-making with Pegg and Wright here in’t Smoke at the end of October, and when someone asked about series 3, Pegg noted that it’d be nice if Channel 4 repeated the second series. He didn’t rule out the possibility, but said that with the film stuff that was going on now, things had kind of taken a different path (I paraphrase).

But if you want to know more of what happened to Tim and Daisy after the end of series 2, the 3-DVD set that came out recently features a documentary which is appropriately enough called ‘Skip to the end’…

Slightly off-topic, but did anyone else think series 2 of Big Train was about a thousand times worse than the fisrt. Something to do with Linehan's 'advisory' rather than participatory role. Same with Black Books series 2.

I didn't think Linehan had anything to do with it. I thought he was off doing series one of Black Books with Dylan Moran leaving Arthur Mathews to write BT on his own. That, coupled with the foolish abandonment of the steadycam/partial improvisation technique was it's downfall.

Look at the credits and Linehan gets a mention, but yeah, that's prolly the reason. The female performers were way under par after Julia Davis and the brunette from BT1.

Favourite BT sketch:
The one chronicling a day in the life of a middle aged banker narrated by a 2 yr old.

Or the wannabe firemen jockeys (simply for their expressions when allowed to use the hose..)

So is that scene from the end of Skip to the End considered "cannon" in the Spaced universe? I could easily see that being the source of an inordinate number of message board feuds, but is there some kind of general consesus?

I like it, and think it works really well, but would still rather see a couple of specials in the vein of The Office to tie everything up.

Dunno if there’s any kind of consensus, but as Pegg talks about how any new stuff would show Daisy and Tim now, and how they know how the character’s lives are likely to pan out, I think it’s a nice taste of what could/might be.
I think in the Star Trek world, it’s canon if filmed, so I’d go with that. And the fact it was performed – and presumably written – by the two creators of the two characters.
I suspect we’re unlikely to see a third series of Spaced, or a one-off, which is fine as far as I’m concerned, as much as I love the programme; it’s up to the creators whether to do more or not, and so if this is the capstone, hinting at what might have been, then I see no reason not to accept it. Though as far as I was concerned the ‘will-they won’t-they’ element of Spaced was always a very minor thing, and I was always pleased at the way it was shown in that way, unlike so many programmes where that dominates.

Can anyone explain what is on the 'Skip to the End' docu for those of us without the disc? Is it just that Tim and Daisy sleep together ir what??

Sure, though here be SPOILERS …

After a really rather good documentary talking about the making of Spaced, and featuring appearances from many if not all of the cast, Pegg, Stevenson and Wright are seen sitting on the doorstep of the house (earlier on, they’d been inside talking about how they used it during the filming etc and some Spaced fans were outside taking snaps, so they got a nice surprise when the two of them came out). Anyway, they say they’ll thank the owner of the house, and ring the bell. There’s no answer, so they walk off, joking about getting back to their real lives.

As they walk off, the camera pans back to the door of the house, and Tim and Daisy emerge, Tim holding a baby. He says he thinks she needs changing, and Daisy says she changed her last time. Tim counters that he took the bin out (I think) and Daisy trumps him by saying that she was in labour for 15 hours. He shrugs, and then says “I love you” and kisses her. She replies “I know” and they start to head in. “Come on, Luke”, Tim says to the baby, and we hear Daisy shout “I told you, we’re not calling her Luke”.

I’m working from memory here, and paraphrasing and the like, but I think that about covers it, though I hope others’ll feel free to jump in and correct me.

That was a lovely surprise at the end of the documentary. I kind of felt there didn't need to anymore, although I wouldn't say no.
