I read an interview in Rue Morgue, the best Horror mag on the stands, and Moore said that his best hope for the movie is that it's like Blade Runner was to Do Androids Dream of Elecric Sheep. Different, but still good. Both he and Campbell also expressed admiration in the period detail.
Is it going to be crap compared to the book? Well, yeah. But at least, judging by the trailer, a little of the Moore voodoo has seeped into the movie and made look just a tad better than most of the Ripper movies (I was a teenage Ripperologist!).
The last bit in the article was great. Moore said he would probably end up seeing it on video since he didn't have any desire to travel to the nearest cinema. He did add that he might attend the premiere, but only because his daughters had drawn up a very well thought out kidnapping plot involving Johnny Depp. |
