Recieved the following email today about a show called 'Neutrino' that totally blew me away at Edinburgh last year. I thoroughly recommend you get out and see it if you have a chance to make any of the dates below- it's a dangerously beautiful bit of work.

quote:For All You Lot who might want to try and catch NEUTRINO on tour.

NEUTRINO is our newest, shiniest, bestest show what we have made ever.
We like it and so do many other people.
It sold out in Edinburgh and was awarded a prize for being skill.
If you've seen it and don't want to see it again, please tell your friends.
And ask them to tell their friends.

Here is when and where it is on............

The Return Of Rothkoid
13:46 / 06.02.02
I need to tag onto the end of this thread with a general announcement that Shockheaded Peter is scheduled to return to London in April. It opens at the Albery on April 4th, and continues until mid-June.

I can't urge people here to go strongly enough. It's the best theatre I've ever seen, and has it all: death, puppetry, Victoriana, cut-outs, musical spoons and evil children. Fucking top, with music by The Tiger Lillies, who are great in a cabaret-stylee - and have a drummer that looks like James Joyce. Seriously: it's one of the most enjoyable events I've ever been to, and would suggest a barbe-excursion to it sometime during the run: I have a feeling it might appeal to some people around here. (If needed, see more ranting about same on my NS4-unfriendly blog.)

Wayahead's site says this: quote: Following its highly successful run at the Piccadilly Theatre last spring, Shockheaded Peter returns to the Albery Theatre for a strictly limited season.
Shockheaded Peter is based on a sequence of unpleasant poems by Heinrich Hoffman, written in Germany in 1844 as 'Struwwelpeter'. You might remember the boy that never cuts his hair or trims his nails or the red-legged scissorman waiting in the wardrobe for thumbsuckers.
These poems were turned into songs by Martyn Jacques and cult band The Tiger Lillies and staged by Phelim McDermott and Julian Crouch. Shockheaded Peter is a gory junk opera in which Hoffman's characters are re-cast as the dysfunctional offspring of a mutant fin-de-siecle society. Shockheaded Peter is a 19th Century pop video set in a Victorian advent calender with cheap illusions, dusty props, shadowy figures, staged with low tech, hand made precision.
