I dont know if anyone can help me on this but I am desperate for a copy of this movie and can't find it anywhere on British shores. Does anyone out there know of any internet sites that might have copies of it for sale?

Would be really grateful, cheers.

Hmmm, I think I still have a copy of this in NTSC format...

I've never seen an official release of it, and nothing shows up on EBay. I'll check my own collection first and advise. Over!

Try Amazon, they have it on VHS and DVD. I'm not sure why the videotape is more expensive than the DVD.

I own a copy on VHS taped off the original airing, but have no way to copy it. I still hold Homicide as the best cop show ever, and in the top 5 of all time shows. When will NBC get smart and start releasing seasons on DVD?

[slightly off topic] I got to see Andre Braugher play Henry V at Shakespeare in the park in Central Park. Fucking amazing.[/slightly off topic]

I've just heard from Tower records that the video should be on general release in about a month which should hopefully make a difference to the crazy price they're charging for it.The tv channel showing it here in England had no respect for it either, putting it on at night sometime between one and three in the morning.

Ah ha, thanks for the linkage. I was unable to even find the vhs of the movie on Amazon.

CourtTV, in the States, shows Homicide every weeknight at one in the morning. Not really a coveted timeslot, but CourtTV seems to understand what a good show it is much more than NBC ever did. Meaning they actually promote it. They even have Homicide marathons now and again, while NBC would put it in a horrible Friday night timeslot before kicking it off altogether.

One of the PBS stations did 'Anatomy of a Homicide' where they documented the process of putting the show together. It followed the Vincent D'Onofrio episode, where he was trapped under the subway. Pretty amazing episode, and the background was fascinating.

I've got 2 or 3 episodes of Homicide taped fron tv... I still watch them now and again. Truly an unforgettable show. I have the movie recorded also, but I'm missing the first 20 minutes or so - and I've still never seen them.

Bayliss' confession scene to Frank was heartbreaking.

I wish this show was still airing.

Remember that scene where the two parents take their child off of life support? Or the waterfight on the roof? Or Pembleton refusing to join in with Crosetti's funeral march, prefering instead to salute in full dress uniform? Or Kellerman's murder of Luthor Mahoney?

I've got to get those DVDs.

Oh, good Christ, I loved Homicide...

Especially Frank.

Andre Braugher is my favourite actor. I watched that shitty Nic Cage angels business just to see him. I'd watch Frequency as well.

Is it any good?

I didn't know Andre Braugher was in either of those movies... but yes, I think I will watch them now.

There's another one I saw, where he had the lead, set in segregationist America, and he's a school teacher who takes his black class into a whites only diner.

It was good, but I can't remember the name.

"I've never been over to your youse for dinner"

"But we are a family, we don't invite each other over for diner, we hate we squabble we fight -- we are a REAL family"

Let's hear it for thegospel of Pembelton!

Is it avilable in the uk?? Please!, Thank you.

"I'm sorry, I can't turn the [female] suspect over to you. Procedure requires a female officer for long distance transport."

"Meet my partner, Detective Kellerman."

"You're not a woman..."

"But I used to be."

Yes, the gospel of Pembleton.

'When your good side and your bad side come smack into one another...'

I only ever saw that as a flashback, started watching just after a Baldwin died. Meldrick's partner.

PEMBLETON!

Bo Felton (the show's token Baldwin) was Kay's partner, not Meldricks.

Right, the flashback. When Bayliss says Pembleton's speech was the spur for his homosexual adventures.
