The reason there was no email, I think, was that [jesus-clouds]Tom[/jesus-clouds] was spending most of his time trying to a) find work and b) actually get this place working with a minimum of downtime. There were postings on the board about it going down, but I think the thought was to get it fixed, rather than keep people that appraised of the situation.
I'm not sure, either, but I think the Federal Code could be stock protective boilerplate to make sure Tom's not left carrying the can in legal matters. It could even be stock guff that ships with this version of the UBB; not entirely sure. It didn't seem to be that much of a problem; though there had been more talk (prior to restarting) about how liable the board owner would be if there were ever any legal action brought against the Underground, so it's probably an offshoot of that.
