I really do need to go through it again - probably a couple more times - to work out each and every. Madman as reduced to Ignatz Mouse was hella cool, though.

Madman issue 3 was absolutely stunning. If you thought his Solo was good, this will knock you for six.

An artist of Allred's skill riffing on another artist's style is always going to be fun, but packing hundreds of these riffs into a single issue - something else. It's great to see a comic of this quality in on a monthly schedule.

This one issue just oozes a love of the medium as a whole, comparable on that level only to Flex Mentallo.

This is really crying out for a full annotation by some internet nerd. I'm not nearly geeky enough to get all of his references.

Yeah.....I was on the fence about picking this up, just for financial reasons (having picked up Vol. 3? 4? #1 and enjoyed it but underwhelmed on some level) --- but when I skimmed through it and saw the art riffs he was doing, I had to have it.

It's been pretty good so far, Finder -- it reminds me of those old Seventies Doctor Strange comics, plunging through realities and states of mind. I suspect with #4 - back out of Madman's head - things will start to kick into a more solid, action-tastic popgasm.
