It's no big deal, but most people I know won't know what I'm talking about. This month's issue of Esquire Magazine has a section called "The Lost Art of ..." Chris Ware's done some illustrations for it.

...now isn't this just awful. C Ware being passed up so soundly yet appropriately. Anyone get a chance to come in contact with him yet? He ran a back page comic in the local phila city paper but it's not around anymore. Apparantly too depressing or something.

Well anyway...my friend got me his 1st book, Jimmy Corrigan, and the art as well as the story are great. Nice feel for the old school aesthetics of design and a simple style that communicates so much. I'll try to dredge up some info on the man cause it's something people here should like.

I'm not sure if I understand you - are you asking US for info about Chris Ware? Have you not heard of Google? Have you not tried looking up a number of older threads that have already been written here about the man?

oh, there's been a lot about Ware. Some of the threads might not have survived the migration, but he comes up regularly. Most of the people who are interested have read Jimmy Corrigan, or at least poked through it or an issue of Acme.

That back page strip may have actually been some of the later Corrigan material, as that strip was serialized in indie weeklies for a while, couple years back. Chicago, Providence, Seattle and some other cities all ran it.

no...I be a web designer so no need to talk about google now. Just that I came to this thread with only one lonely old post and no other Ware threads came up in the search. Though...humph this was strange.

What, you mean besides this one and this one and this one and this one?

Search terms used: "corrigan", "acme", and "rusty". Total time spent: 90 seconds.

This will hopefully be less of a problem once the directory is done...

well my ficsuit name is befitting at the moment. Guess this thread can slip away with a lack of discussion regarding the author. I'll go play in my forum I guess. Nice to see it was covered though...
