This is mainly aimed at Captain Zoom (zoom...oom...oom...), but -

I have friend. He's taking business classes from one o' them online universities. He's thinking about opening a comic shop/video store.

His personal tastes run towards Iron Man and Flash, and he's got a Punisher tattoo on his leg.

What'd be your best advice for success?

Key to success? Don't open a comic shop.

Just kidding. It can work.

My good friend makes a much better living than me and his house is a mansion compared to mine. He owns two small comic shops. I think his key to success is that both shops are small so he does not have much overhead and he really caters to his subscribers. He pretty much makes his orders based on what his regulars want so that he does not get stuck with a bunch of books that wont ever sell. You have to keep you finger on the pulse of what your customers really want and not get tricked into buying a bunch of crap just because the distributer says its going to be hot.
