Just a though given to me by the contemplative segment of my brain.

How a about a comic contructed of Rayographs?

Feasible?

Good?

Bad?

Ridiculous?

(Feeling a little uninformed)

What's a rayograph?

Rayographs are a photographic method created by Man Ray.

I'll look for a nice link for you tomorrow, when I have some time.

Ahh, what the heck, i'll do it now.

Here is a link to a classic rayograph.Rayograph

And this is the definition here.

A cameraless photograph produced by placing objects directly onto light-sensitive paper or film and exposing them to light. Photogenic drawings, Christian Schad's Schadographs, and Man Ray's Rayographs are all photograms.

Something like that.

I thought that those were cyanotypes... anyhoo i think its a great challenge to form an interesting narrative within the confines of such a structure.

I'd also like to see a comic with the panels laid out in the style of mondrian.

What kind of narrative structure could you achieve with that kind of visual though. I imagine it would be hard to develop characters, though you could have the comic in first person and that's what the person sees.

I imagine, at least for the art, it would be extremely time-consuming.

Is this an artform you're involved with? I'd be willing to try to script something like that.

No technique is ridiculous for a comic if it suits the story well. If you do it, I'll read it.

Thinking further on the subject, I think it would be a little hard to do a complete story line just with rayographs but if you tie in photogenic drawings as well, then you could have something good going on there.

It was just a musing I had and wanted som expert opinion on how people would feel about seeing something like this come out in print.

Thanks for the feedback, I shall file this under something to do one of these days.
