Here I am again, looking at 2 titles and wondering what my fellow lithers have to say about them (see how much I value your opinion?):

Marvel Knights - THE SENTRY (OR THE SENTINEL, I don't know it's original name) It's about that guy who forgot he was the greatest super-hero etc.
Is it brilliant, or just good? How good? Worth a shot?

Marvel Knights - INHUMANS You know, with the guy who can't speak because something bad happens when he speaks (Attuma?). His wife is called Medusa, because her hair etc etc.
Again, is it brilliant, or just good? How good? Worth a shot?

[ Edited to say I'm sorry, I mixed up everyting, it's the place that's called "Atillan". The guy's name is still a mistery to me]

I looooooved The Sentry. An excellent idea and well pulled off. Inhumans I got for the first few issues then it lost my interest. From what I hear it's good, but I would put The Sentry as my favourite of last year.

Avoided the SENTRY but I've been meaning to check iot out....

The Inhumans by the same team... done before The Sentry... was quite good... Slow at first but it continued to build pulling what seemed to be randome developments into a rather tightly thought out conclusion...

Nice piece of work & just out as a TPB...

I only followed the Inhumans until the 9th issue as I moved to an area that didn't stock up on U.S. comics but I found it brilliant. The sadness that pervaded most of the parts was truly savory, while the "Kingdom" was crumbling down before the different classes of inhabitants.

I have always been keen on Jenkins, ever since I stumbled upon the Jenkins/Phillips run on Hellblazer. If you haven't, you should definitely check out Webspinners ca. 11 by the same team. É muito bom.

THE SENTRY had one of the best first issues ever but the rest of the series was weak. It then became a horrible money grab whereby the series concluded in a number of one-shots featuring other marvel chacters. This bothered me.

Been meaning to get the INHUMANS TPB. Heard good things.

Got the first couple of issues of Sentry....Great art but i found the writing annoyingly derivative...Which i guess was the point...But i wasn't too keen...Now i think i'll go back and read the trade and enjoy it a lot more...

Theres a Marvel compilation magazine called 'Marvel Knights' i picked up a couple of times...It collects...Ennis' Punisher...Smiths' Daredevil and the ' Inhumans'....The 2 issues that i got...Inhumans...Great stuff!!!...The story when the teenagers are going through 'puberty' is one one the best storys i've read in a long while...I think i'll get the trade....I'm not going to go into a rant about how shit Ennis is at the the moment....

But yeah...from a pretty shit-faced point of view...Inhumans is good...

ireckon...

Can't help you on INHUMANS, but the Sentry was unfortunately a total waste of 6 issues to me. Jenkins is skilled but could have told the tale in half the issues.

Everything was too predictable and I couldn't get UNBREAKABLE out of my head. I don't want t oruin it for you completely. It's moody and rather gritty, just the way some superheroes have to be. So go for that if it's your cup of tea.

I strongly recommend FANTASTIC FOUR 1234, though. It's by Grant Morrison and Jae Lee. Moody - yet colourful - better paced and full of really fucked-up ideas.

Well that's the thing about Sentry...(to start off with at least...i only read the first couple of issues)

It was Moores Marvelman = Unbreakable...

It seemned to be rooted in the 80s...Very derivative and really not much point to it...

Vortex09... Fantastic Four 1234 wasn't published in Brazil - yet. I'm waiting to get it. Right now Promethea is sucking all my money when it concerns to imported stuff.

Hadn't thought about Miracleman. It was such a good idea, but the execution was kinda poor. A book maybe hyped too much.

I bought FF1234 (so easy to type...) in English. I try not to read Morrison translations. Judging by your answer you must be Elton, right? =) Because if you're not I got to point you to my Portuguese forum.
