The much heralded deconstruction of hero comix is happening in our lifetime.

things I've noticed:
- he's blended Spike (totally innocuous black skater guy from the X-men cartoon) with Latrell Spriewell- totally addressing that ghetto fabulous w/ tattoos image from the NBA.
- the cover with wolverine is commentary on the comic cover as hype often totally unrelated to content- moreover is it about coke? are the marvel boys splitting an 8-ball in the back room while the presses roll?
- 'bootylicious'- destiny's child.

The invisibles predicts 10 years from now- iis X-force 10 weeks from now?

Reading through Milligan's script for issue #123, it looks like Spike may be more of a Dennis Rodman kind of guy.

Hope this series goes on and on and on...

From what I've read in interviews with Michael Allred, Tike Alicar is meant to be based on Dennis Rodman, that was his and Milligan's intention from the start.

I think it is very reasonable to suggest that Spike is based on Latrell Spreewell, but that won't be cemented in my mind til we see him strangle Guy or Edie...
