You know, one of those really dodgy places that sell shoddy looking books about there great painters for £2.99.

I was in there looking for christmas presents .. and what did I see in the corner but three entire boxes of quality Graphic Novels reduced to £1.99 or £2.99 each!!

I've bought tons of stuff, and I just want to do some fan-boy bragging really -

the complete Halo Jones, Ghost in the Shell, a couple of volumes of Swamp Thing, Violent Cases, Sin City, a few volumes of Sandman ...

Why, it was something akin to heaven!

The most irritating thing was that they had a load of volumes (Akira book one, Promethea, League of Extrordinary Gentlemen) that I'd recently bought at (extortionate) full price! Why the money I could have saved if I'd only visited this shitty looking bookshop a few months ago!

And I also got the Complete Works of Lewis Carrol, The Golden Bough and Brewers Phrase & Fable for a total of 6 quid.

God bless these discount book shops.

Check out your local ones, UK people, maybe they've got some too..

The shop on the high street - called 'The Works' I think. Downstairs on the right, somewhere around the Sci-Fi books.

By the corner of the market.

I got Books of Magic (the first one) Dark Night Returns and Saga of teh the Swamp Thing for a tenner there once. And some other really cool books are sold there too.

God, I miss Leicester sometimes.

Now there's a nomination for 'things you never thought you'd say.'

I wish.

He can come and do my job on the paper for a bit if I can go back to Leicester and spend a few days getting very drunk, going to the Phoenix, Charlotte and Rockaboom, ordering TJ's veggie burgers and maybe popping into the Museum on New Walk.

Whadda u think?

Not Me Again - so you work on a newspaper in North Wales?

Have you seen 'Darklands'?

Not that anything particularly horrific happens in it, but it's such a badly made film, you really wouldn't want to live in it..

And compared to life in rural Wales, Leicester is a heady, cosmopolitan, exotic capitalist wonderland filled with such previously unknown things as ethnic communities, indie discos, Thai resturants and shops that sell nothing but flared trousers and old Star Wars figures..
