Well I've just discovered The Adventures of Barry Ween: Boy Genius and I thought I'd share.

It's brilliant, story of a 10 year old with an IQ of 350 and a mouth like a sewer. He still doesn't understand girls though.

It would probably be quite a boring book as well if It wasn't for Jeremy his best mate, who isn't quite as clever and has a tendency to pick up unconcious aliens and bring them home.

You'll understand once you read it, first couple of pages from each comic are up at www.barryween.com. First issue of the new run is just out.

Anyone else discovered something cool recently?

well, I haven't 'discovered them recently', but it seems like this may be a good thread to mention that new issues of both Adrian Tomine's Optic Nerve and Chris Ware's ACME Novelty Library came out today in the USA. Which is a big deal cos a) they come out so rarely and b) cos they are both consistently great comics.

Warning: the ACME comic is about two feet long and a foot wide...it's huge, and will not fit on any bookshelf, and is a storage nightmare. If only I had a coffee table...

I've posted it before, but the best recent discovery I've come across is the Star Wars: Tag and Bink Are Dead series. Written by the dude who created "Troops", and based on Tom Stoppard's excellent "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead", it is well worth a read. Funniest thing I've seen all year.

And only 2 issues long.

Zoom.
