Just a quick question - what do you folks think of the animated X-men series? Does it follow the comic books? Do you like it? I used to watch it (where i lived I couldnt get the comics) and I liked it.. um am I making sense.. anyway - what do you think?

Dunno...never seen it...

But i was talking to my 10 yr old son Ceiran the other day and he was spouting some ridiculous shit about Mystique being Nightcrawlers Mother! and he reckoned he saw it on some x-men cartoon or other...

Now, i havn't read the comics in a few years so if anyone can help me prove the little sod wrong it would be appretiated...

Then i can tell him to piss off back to Pokemon...

I.m not sure if it was ever properly explored, but there was a little bit of teasing going on concerning Mystique and Nightcrawler's relationship. When Mystique was in a simulated training sequence hunting down X-men, she hesitated in killing Nightcrawler while she had no problems murdering Rogue, her step daughter. Odd.

And wasn't she Nightcrawler's mom in XCalibre?

I seem to recall Chris Claremont claiming that what he'd wanted to reveal was that Destiny was Nightcrawler's mother, and that Mystique (a shapeshifter) was in fact his father.

Which would be quite funky.

It has Nightcrawler. It has my support. On Monday: Wolfsbane, Sunspot, Cannonball, Magma, Jamie Maddox, Iceman, and Boom-Boom.

Far too few episodes that don't stand repeat viewings.

In the comics, Mystique is Nightcrawler's mother. It was revelaed in an early issue of X-Men Unlimited. His father was some german high-society/royality bloke. When he was born, Mystique revealed her true form and was hunted through the woods by a group of Angry Villagers (tm) (i believe there was torches and pitchforks...) so to keep then happy she threw the ever-so-cute Lil' Nightcrawler over a waterfall (cold-hearted bitch). He survived somehow.

That makes him Graydon Creed's half-brother (his parents are Mystique and Sabretooth) and Rogue's sorta-half-brother. (Mystique adopted her.)

See, I was quite an X-fan, way back when!
