Image Comics, what the hell...

So, I've got a bit of a bee in my bonnet over a recent Image comics decision. It seems that they no longer feel it necessary to put a Canadian cover price on their books. This is something that's always annoyed me about small press stuff, especially when a Canadian indie coimc will always put a U.S. cover price. But for Image, one of the "Big Four" to blatantly ignore the Canadian market makes no sense to me.

That's my beef. I feel better now.

I guess Canadians don't buy enough Image comics.... and hey .. we won't complain very loudly so why not save the printing costs...OR maybe its just, yet another isolationist reaction rearing it ugly head after the ugliness of 9/11....

I wonder how Todd McFarlane feels about this...

I'm wondering why it makes so much difference that they take out the Canadian price...it's such a minor piece of copy...
I suppose it has something to do with the fluxuation of the Canadian dollar leading them to alter the cover price ever so slightly once in a while?

Yeah, I think it's something to do with the fluctuation of the currency between items going to press and hitting the racks.

Come to think of it, Marvel and DC used to put UKĀ£ prices on the covers of the majority of their titles years ago. That stopped as well... for the same reason ? Anyone know ?

(pauses to give the cover of the latest issue of Powers the hairy eyeball; flips it open, and registers an expression of surprise)

Hey, ya know whut? Not only is there NOT a Canadian price on the cover, but it's doubly odd since on the inside cover it clearly states "PRINTED IN CANADA"!
