I think that maybe I should feel at least a little weird that I genuinely enjoyed about half of Scott Lobdell's X-Men comics.

That, and the fact that I own and continue to buy all of Joe Casey's godawful Uncanny X-Men comics.... mostly out of morbid curiosity, though.

Other than that, I think my tastes have been pretty solid over the years.

I wann be the first one to get in the obligatory "You shouldn't be embarrassed" line on this one.

Other than that, er, the one complete run I kept when I sold my old collection was "We Who Are About to Die: Stikeforce Morituri."

A Pair of Lady Death comics are sitting somewhere on my shelf.
I usually justify them as "research in current trends, circa early '90s".
People still grimaces.

The cast of Gloomcookie so closely resembled certain friends of mine that I bought them all copies. Unfortunately, the comic blows, so I lost some credibility points there.

Also, I draw a guilty pleasure from “Knights of the Dinner Table”.

Guilty as charged - even if I go for "Dork Tower" normally, as it's easier to find hereabouts.

I'm missing 3 issues of FLASH (Wally West titles). But I geneuinely enjoyed most of them, so I see no reason to stop.

Mmh, I came into this thread wondering if I should seriously undermine any chances of ever acquiring some kind of respectability on this board by mentioning Knights of the Dinner Table, but since two of you have already done that...

But there's no way I'm ashamed of Excalibur! That was the first comic I ever collected and it still has a special place in this geek's heart....

Crap, I paid full price for that a few years back! Still cool, though.

Yes. The British working classes dress as Teddy Boys. Our pubs are populated by men in Aran sweaters, no matter how far inland they are. London is built entirely of low-level grey stone buildings, and is shrouded in fog.

We call each other "luv", and all have comedy regional accents except, inexplicably, Dai Thomas, who nonetheless calls people boyo. Even girls. Especially girls.

Supernaturals (The Comic of the Holographic Figures). Not the Supernaturals stories. This comic is responsible for me being freaked out by scarey wooden puppets... had some lovely one off horror stories that were great to 10 year old....

Supernaturals vs The Visionaries...

What's this thread called? Oh.

When I had the big get rid of you crap superheroe comics clear out I kept the fem Strikeforce Morturi, the few St George comics I had, Slash Maraud, the few Alien Legion and the few Scout War Shaman I had. Anyone remember any of them?

Mind you I think the ones I worry most about telling people on this forum about would be the Gart Ennis stuff (including the new Punisher) and Poison Elves.

There was one that ran for a couple of years recently called The Invisibles, or something. Christ, that was awful. No decent costumes, no flying, no real battles, no proper superhero names. There was a girl called Robin, though. I think it might have been the same one from Dark Knight Returns, but I'm not sure. One of them was even a transvestite or something, it was really weird. Not my cup of tea. Although I heard there's a film coming out, and the official adaptation is going to be by Marvel Comics, and Chris Claremont is going to write it. So that might be worth picking up.

However, I do have a complete run of Shogun Warriors, which I can't bear to part with.

my guilty pleasures? gotta be Mike Baron's punisher- which, looking back now, was actually better than Nexus, tho neither of them can compare to Bill Reinhold's run on Badger.

amidst the gloomy/gritty outlook + the hilarious 'current events' stories (S+L scandals, Manson/Gary Gilmore) he does some 'zen pop funny' shit sometimes- at 1 point Pun gets paralyzed by a villainess + has to watch a movie on cable about a ninja on a vendetta after his family was killed.

I'm about this close to having a complete collection of Marvel's New Universe titles. I collected DP7 while they were publishing it, but I've since scoured bargain bins fro the rest of them. I feel like I'm reading about the world outside my door...wait...what was that bright white flash. Feel body mutating.....urrhh.....blghl....

What do you still need? My brother has issues of Justice, Merc, Star Brand, Spitfire, and that terrible super-football title, and I’m sure he’d be willing to part with him.

Kickers? Right on.

I had a complete run of DP7 many moons ago. I forget why.

Ekk! So did I.

I find my old, old issues of West Coast Avengers a bit embarrasing in hindsight.

Holy fuck, Captain. My roommates and I recently went on a New Universe binge. I have shitloads of those comics. Especially PsiForce. If I ever visit your shop I'll bring them up.

heyyy...I like Poisen Elves, and if anyone wants to give me crap about it, then bring it on!

I like this thread, it reminds me of things i used to buy and could never stop myself--I think i still have the 1st 10 or 15 issues of NFL Superpro lying around, including the one deemed un-PC and banned soon after release

My first Marvel comic was Excalibur. I got #1 thru 80-something. Loved the Alan Davis issues. #42 thru #50 are my favorites. Tried to get a copy of the final issue, 125, but couldn't find it anywhere.

Anyway, beat this: I have every Defiant comic ever made. HA HA HA!

Hello people, don't post here very often (though I read most of the threads) but this topic was irresistible. Anyway, I'm not ashamed at all about this but I guess it fits very well here: I own a Lady Di biocomic. If you can forget about how sad was what happened to her...This is a laugh riot!!! It's unbelievable, awful art, even worse script...and that's the charm it has.
I also remember I ordered once through previews a comic called "ROB", which was published by Awesome...It was about a guy who writes comics, and stuff...you can imagine what this was about, and the autobiographical connotations (it was supposed to be written by Rob himself!). The thing is, this comic never shipped...What a shame.
Other shames: the first 37 Spawn issues, Youngblood 0, lots of x-men, batman and the outsiders...my god, I used to buy so much crap...It even amazes myself
