Well I could say it was worth the wait, but I'm not going to. *sigh*
Well it looked nice, with lots of pictures of spaceships, plot? I'm sorry what was that? This would be the issue where not much happens.
Ok yes they build a space station, they land o the moon and the americans let on they know the 'big secret', but it just hasn't grabbed me. And being issue 2 of a 3 issue series he's leaving it a bit late.
Warren Ellis is the guy who does Planetary right? Just checking, I wish he get a bloody move on with transmetropolitan as well.
I'll read the third issue in the shop and might buy it if it impresses me.

well i think this is a series that can be summed up in its plot synopis-- The british conquor space first-- its as big and as small as that.

although there were a few easter eggs in there if you know the history of the various space programs... like parts of the american space station skylab was manufactured out of surplus stages of saturn V rockets ...

Its not actually good, is it?

But strangely satisfying to me, who partly grew up on Biggles books, RAF war comics and airfix models. There is kind of a cultural/temporal bridge there between little Lukie all those years ago and ME-NOW.

Chris Weston draws a lovely Hurricane, and clearly distinguishes them from Spitfires, so thats cool, and a thing many artists get confused on.

The little suspense detail about the secret of dodgy funding barely supports my interest so I'm glad its only three issues.

#3 is out. And it looks beautiful (haven't read it yet) -- but man, what's up with that weird, fucked-up lettering? The lettering in the previous two issues wasn't like this!

I was wondering about this - i knew it was supposed to be out in April but didn't spot it on the weekly shipping lists either at ninthart or my local comic shop... I just figured it was late again... I look-forward to seeing Westons artwork and hopefully the soon to come collection will feature consistant lettering...

OK, read it. I got used to the wonky lettering pretty quickly, so that was ok. It's pretty good. Sort of ends abruptly after the big twist reveal (two of them, actually). Good stuff, though...not blow-your-mind-amazing (well, except for Weston's art), but very good.
