Well I swung by the comic shop wednesday & barely found anything worth picking up... Outlaw Nation made it's way home with me just for need of a vice... but i ultimately desided to purchase another copy of Say you want a Revolution as my last copy went away...

There was a War Story by Ennis that just wasn't appealing... How about you all?

So no one picked up the new Cable? Pretty interesting stuff. One of the things I liked the most was seeing local foreign militias with mutant powers, no fanfare, no code names, just "Hey, if you float, you'll get a better shot." Kordey's art, while not as slick as Eduardo Risso's, is similar. It grows on you, or at least it grew on me. I also picked up the Channel Zero tpb and CZ: Dupe. More on that later, probably.

i flipped through the advanced copy of NEW X-MEN 117. sciver's art is a bit....jarring after three issues of quitely's.

FANTASTIC FOUR 1234 #3 is also due out. jae lee's art is simply his best yet in this series. wow.

urrggghh I picked up Simpsons Comics, a coupla Star Wars, Outlaw Nation, Murder Me Dead, Kissing Chaos, Batman Year One, and Hey Wait.
Hey Wait stands out..Batman Year One was cool..Simpsons had it's moments. that's about it. Star Wars was cool,but that's just me y'know?

Hey, Wait... is by a (I think) Dutch creator. It has been translated in to english by the kind folks at Fantagraphics.
It's difficult for me to describe. Here is part of the back cover blurb: 'Two childhood friends...at that magical age when life sometimes to consist of nothing but a series of lazy summer days spent playing and reading comics'..
How can yo go wrong? The first page made me laugh. Just get it. Or borrow it first. Hell read it at the comic shop.

I got that War Story by Ennis too. Wasn't that bad. Nice little comment of how the guilt we but ourselves through can be worse than anything else imaginable..or something like that. Come to think of it I didn't really like his Rifle Brigade shit either.

I also picked up Punisher(not sure if it was new this week or not). Fucking awesome. Most of his Punisher shit thus far is better than Preacher by the end.

I also began picking up back issues of The Flash this new guy is doing. Badass. I never liked Waid.

I bought a couple of things last week but the one I want to mention is American Century - I'd decided I was on the verge of dropping this unless it started making a bit more sense, and it has. Shit cover, but a definite improvement otherwise.

Well, they aren't new but I read a bunch of stuff I got sent from the San Diego Comicon. I read the first trade in the Strangers In Paradise collection by Terry Moore, a few 40oz comics from Jim Mahfood and a couple of Grrl Scouts.
