So last, the replacement AUTHORITY was transformed into the orginal Authority ala the re-space reality=thought phonema.

Well as it turns out LAST CALL's extreme Homophobia underminded the collective wish to have him become Midnighter. His ignorant Homophobia nullified that initial wish... Last call then proceeded to beat that dude to death & eventually the re-space wishing well was used to bring everything back to the way it was when the story arch started.

clever... but that's about it.

OK, now I think I'm going to have to ask for the whole arc to be explained just to understand what that means...

While moving into the crashed Carrier, the transdimensional spaceship HQ of the old Authority, the "new" Authority (a carefully selected and test-marketed group of individuals chosen by the Western Powers after they arranged for the old Authority to be killed), comes across a bunch of bodies. Some are alive, most were killed in the crash. All were Asian refugees seeking aid from the Authority. Preferring not to deal with any potential consequences of having a lot of corpses on board, and as an alternative to dumping them out somewhere on Earth, the Authority dumps them into another dimension, both the living and the dead.

The scene cuts to a banquet at the White House, where the President and his guests are discussing the current state of the world (and how much easier it'll all be now that they call the Authority's shots). Suddenly, the White House is transformed into a shantytown. The wealthy guests are now dressed in rags and starving. The same happens to any place in the West where the upper crust call home. To make matters worse, suddenly fighter planes of exotic design begin bombing these areas in grand old Third World tradition.

The Authority gets to the root of matters and traces it all back to a dimension called re-space, i.e. where they dumped all of those inconvenient refugees. It turns out that re-space has the remarkable quality of remaking reality in accordance to the wishes of its inhabitants. The refugees created a paradise for themselves by taking the wealth of the top 1% and making it their own, and began firebombing said 1% as a measure of revenge.

The Authority tries to attack and lasts all of three panels, as the leader of the refugees simply wishes them out of existence. Then the leader makes his crucial mistake: Instead of dispersing them entirely, he re-creates the team as the old Authority, to whom he and his people owe their lives.

Last Call refuses to accept the change into Midnighter, because LC is a severe homophobe, and Midnighter was gay. By resisting the change he manages to undo everything and he beats the refugees' leader to death in short order. Before leaving re-space, the Colonel uses re-space's unique properties to return everything back to status quo.
