From time to time I see old Marvel superhero stuff by Warren Ellis (like Thor, Excalibur- i think) in bargain bins.
So- the question is- is it any good?

I've heard that he wasn't really putting that much into it, but i have read some Wolverine issues he did that were great.

So, what do you think?

His run on Excalibur was excellent. Really good stuff.

Also check out his Excalibur spin-off
"Pryde & Wisdom" limited series for a really good read!

I really liked some of his run on Excalibur. although I do have a fondness for the characters anyway, and as such it was just nice to see them written by somebody not typing with their feet.

However, if you like superheroes, it's above-average for Marvel, once he hits stride with the Black Air storyline. Some good new characters, some nice lines, sinister conspiracies...pretty much standard Ellis.

Oh, and Casey Jones' artwork makes everyone look unbearably cute, which may or may not work for you.

His Doom 2099 was absolutely brilliant, I thought.

Doom suceeds in taking over the world, cool!

I dug his Thor run, but that's about all I've read.
