Wow.

Rork - "a white-haired "wizard" from another dimension who solves supernatural mysteries, before embarking on a quest to discover his origins. During his quest, he is assisted by a cast of characters including occult detective Raffington Event, astrologer Capricorn, the psychic Deliah Darkthorne (aka "Low Vallrey") and her daughter Sy-Ra, the immortal Yosta, and others. His enemies are the mysterious Pharass and the demon Dahmaloch."

Monsieur Choc - "the mysterious leader of a world-spanning criminal organization called La Main Blanche [The White Hand]. His true face remains unknown. He usually hides his features behind a medieval helmet, and dresses in a tuxedo dinner jacket. His nemeses are two private detectives: Tif, a bald (and bold) adventurer, and his companion, Tondu, a former navy captain who wears a beard. Many of their adventures involve science fiction or fantasy elements: anti-gravity (ep. 6), android duplicates (ep. 9), giant robots (ep. 12), dream exploration (ep. 13), super-speed (ep. 32)."

Fantomas - "His adversaries were determined policeman Juve (who may be Fantômas' brother) and young journalist Jerôme Fandor, who eventually fell in love with Hélène, Fantômas' daughter. Another recurring character was the tragic figure of Fantômas' lover, Lady Beltham, who was constantly torn between her passion for the villain and her horror at his criminal schemes. Finally, Fantômas also has an evil son, Vladimir, married to the Countess de Pleumain, an innocent woman whom Fantômas eventually murders."

Tenebrax - a mad scientist who "lives in a huge underground metropolis secretly connected to the Paris Subway and controls an army of giant, intelligent rats."

I wish I could read French.

Dark Horse published a reprint anthology called Cheval Noir back in their alt./indy comics days which as well as some Moebius reprints boasted parts of the Rork saga as well. the art impressed me.
