Watchmen Movie: Your dream cast.

Can't help it: when I'm re-re-re-reading the book, I imagine which actors would be the best ones for a big screen adaptation. My little list:
Ozymandias - Robert Redford (too bad he's too old now)
Comedian - Tom Selleck
Nite Owl - A younger Robert DeNiro, perhaps?
Rorschach - Mickey Rourke?
Dr. Manhattan - Any bald blue guy would do.

What is your dream cast?

who wants to see an inevitably compromised watchmen movie? If anyone is unwillling to read the comic it is their loss.

NO. This is OUR movie. OUR cast. Forget about the real world for a moment

Maybe they could use the cast of the Muppet Show.

Gonzo as Rorschach
Fozzie as the Comedian
ect...

Do we really need two threads dedicated to this?

I would, but then people would be upset with me.

I have no spine.

Ozzy = Brad Pitt
Comedian = the Rock with a mustach
Nite Owl = Brendan Fracher
Roshach = Edward Norton
Dr. Manhattan = Patrick Stwart
Jupiter Jane (or whatever her name was)= Julia Roberts
The Mollock = a CGI version of Peter Lorri...

Of COURSE!!!

I tend to think older -- I'd rather not see Brad Pitt in "look I'm 20 years older!" make-up.

So,
Nite Owl II (Dreiberg) - Harrison Ford
Rorschach - John Malkovich
The Comedian - Uh, Sean Connery?

Everyone else would, of course, be a Muppet. Laurie Juspeczyk (Ms. Piggy) torn between Harrison Ford and a painted-blue omniscient Kermit is really growing on me.

IF ITS NOT LIVE ACTION IT CAN BE ANIMATED AND LOOSE VERY LITTLE OF THE STORY DETAIL. THREE 2-HOUR MOVIES, EVENTUALLY TURNING INTO THREE 2-HOUR DISC, SHOULD BE ENOUGH TIME WITHOUT COMPROMISING CHARACTER DEVOLEPEMENT.

HOPEFULLY IS DOESN'T TURN OUT TO BE LIKE THE LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN MOVIE. GET SOMEBODY GOOD TO WRITE IT AND SOMEONE GOOD TO DIRECT IT, AND A GOOD CAST.
