The biggest mystery of them all

Hi, guys-
Okay, so I'm sitting here with my new copy of "Anarchy in the U.K.", which means I've finally got the complete story of volumes one and two.

I've read them and reread them all.

I've sat with each one in front of a computer and simoltaneously read each issue with the annotations at the Bomb site.

I've scanned through these many intriguing bulletin boards.

But there is still one question, one mystery, one topic which I find so mind-boggling that my head hurts, yet no-one, as far as I can tell, has ever addressed it.

Now, maybe I'm just an idiot, but how in the hell do you pronounce the recurring phrase
"TT!"
and what the hell does it mean?

Is it a "found sigil" of Chaos magick? Is there some sort of semantic/linguistic significance to the fact that there is no way to pronounce that as it is written? Is it meant to restructure reality? OR is it just some British thing that ignorant Americans cannot grasp in their infinite unhipness?

Discuss.

Since I am an ignorant American, I can only guess that your last choice is the correct answer.

I thought it was like a *tut*.
Or a version of *tsk*

Y'know, a disapproving sound.

Guy 1: "I going to shoot some heroin into my veins!"
Guy 2: " *tsk* "

I think Warewulf's got it. Unfortunately, the resource I'd normally use for onomatopoeic conundrums, The Dictionary of Comic Book Words on Historical Principles offers no help. Bastards.

Didn't Morrison also have Batman make the 'TT' sound in JLA a few times? Again that whole disapproving sound thing.

Okay, sometime later I'll dig through my Invisibles collections for specific references, but just "disapproval" doesn't quite jive with me...

Sometimes it seems to be shock, or surprise....

No, it's jaded disapproval.

Vague irritation: as when Sir Miles can't find his hankerchief (in new collection).

It's that sound you make when sucking your tongue across the palate immediately above the back of your front teeth.
Sometimes written, equally inadequately, as "tch." It's the sound parakeets make.
