Invisibles Issues

I'm torn. I have Vol. 1, #s 9-24, all in M/NM condition (I got em from one of the guys who issues the Overstreet guide). Now that the trades are out, it's prolly cheaper to just buy Entropy in the UK than hunt down #25. So, do any of you want these issues?

following that, use this thread to talk about the comic, since this new board doesn't have one of those yet...

Good God man are you crazy?
Original's beat a trade any day of the week.

No, I'm not crazy. The idea is to finance having the finished story and please somebody who would get more from the orginals than I would. For me it'd be like having two copies of a book, one in proofs missing the last chapter. It's a cool artifact, but not terribly useful.

...

Why?

Trades have lot of advantages: no adverts, easier to lend to friends, look a lot better on your bookshelf, etc...

(Okay, so they don't have Grant's Invisible Ink columns, so if that's your rational I can see ya point.)

Has anyone heard any more about the proposed “Making of the Invisibles” book? I heard he was going to reprint a lot of the Invisible Ink stuff in there.

I remember Grant mentioning that he'd like to write a book about the process of writing the invisibles and include the II columns and such. However, I doubt we'll ever see it.

Hell, I'd love to see the rumored Annotations book too... (Doubting of course that it would be as good as The Bomb. More complete towards the end meaby but not nearly as in depth.

Uh, hey, [YNH], did you get my email?

A friend of mine recently asked Douglas Rushkoff when the "little red book" (a futorological brainstorm/manifesto drawn up by Morrison, Orridge and Rushkoff) was likely to appear. Rushkoff told him that, whilst he and Orridge were up for it, Grant had yet to commit.

Typical!

And what about his cunty website?

I know, I know, he's a busy man with a life of his own.......

Just get the freaking TPB.

This may be the place to say that I was ripshit that Entropy in the UK had no introduction, preface or end notes. No editoral content at all.

What gives? Animal Man TPB was worth a endnote, why not the Invisibles?

Any word on a Vol. 3 TPB or that IT book GM was/is writting?

I get the feeling Vertigo have more or less given up on introductions, prologues etc., presumably under the realization that they're a pointless waste of paper.

Mind you, a page summarizing the plot & characters is always useful..

I thought Kissing Mr Quimper was Vol. 3?

It was the third and last collection of the Vol. 2 issues.

Vol. 2 consisted of "Bloody Hell in America", "Counting to None", and "Kissing Mr. Quimper"

Quite right.

So when do when get Volume 3? Surely they sell these collections like nobody's business. All we're missing is one one volume now.

Surely it should be titled Counting to None, since the issues run back from 12 to 1. However they've already used that title. Maybe that's why we haven't seen Vol 3 reprinted yet - somebody somewhere trying to work out what they're going to call it.

Hate to shill on the board (really, I do), but I thought the folks here deserved first dibs on this particular plum. So. Anyone want to buy the bulk of th' Invisibles individual issues? Vol. 1, issues 1-25 (issue 1 has loose cover ), Vol. 2, issues 1-2 and 10-22, and Vol. 3, issues 12-1. That's right, kids! Every issue but 2.3-2.9! Get 'em now, before they go to some evil investor on eBay who'll never even take them out of their bags! PM me for details if you're interested...

Hey ynh, if you have issues 13-18,23,24, I would be interested in buying them from you. These are the only ones I am missing from volume 1.
