Does anybody know what the proposal was that Grant and Millar (and whoelse) put forward to DC? Why it was turned down, and if this was the reason they went to do the X-Men titles.

I'm doing a short article on the X-Men comics, and would appriciate any piece of knowledge.

I have no clue what the proposal included, but I can tell you that the team of writers who made the proposal including Mark Waid and Tom Peyer along with Grant and Millar. This topic is discussed in some detail by Mark Waid in Warren Ellis' Come In ALone column, which is online somewhere, I have the book.

This event did not have all that much to do with Millar and Morrison writing the X-Men, other than that it alienated them from working at DC, freeing them up to freelance at Marvel instead. (that and them both being writers of great reputation)

had something to do with everyone forgetting that there WAS ever a superman. Some time travel and then after he's back not even lois remembers that Clark is Superman but Luthor does . . or some such thing.

There was an interview in WIZARD that mentioned it.

thas all I know . . .

I remember that the proposal had something to do with hypertime, but that is really all I remember.

At the Atlanta comicon back in April, Waid said something to the effect that much of what they proposed has actually turned up in bits here and there in the DCU. Just not done very well.
