I'm kind of enjoying Outlaw Nation.
It doesn't work very well in monthly format, because there's lots of characters and plot details that aren't immediately memorable, so by the time the next issue comes round you've forgotten what the hell was going on and it all turns into one big mish-mash of cliches and not terribly exciting dialogue..
..this, plus the fact that anyone picking up a random issue to see what it's like won't have a clue in hell what's going on, probably means it won't last too long..
..but, still, I'm enjoying it. I love the ideas and concepts behind it and it's got potential for some cool shit - the problem's in the way it's written. It's so bogged down in it's own plot details, confusing back-story and character histories that there never seems to be any time for any cool set-pieces or drama or fun.. |
