Just to clarify, Gene Wolfe is an American author who is touted by others as "The greatest writer in the English Language alive today." He's most famous for his tetrology of books collectively called "The Book of the New Sun", yet he is also known for having several books and dozens of short stories under his belt.
The question I pose is that, from reading any of his stuff, do you feel that this title is deserved?
I personally do, just for the fact that he can somehow make me empathize with a fellow who tortures and beheads people for a living. |
