What do you MEAN you haven't The Wire'd yet?!?

I know that's what everybody says, but I'm very serious. Biggest drawback is that it'll put you off all other television for a while because you know you won't get anything else of that quality anywhere else.

I haven't watched Breaking Bad yet, but I have Netflix until the end of the year so maybe a boxing day run would be in order. At the moment I just screeched through Battlestar Galactica (20% inspiring, 80% infuriating, very bloody het) and Torchwood (wtf happened to heteronormativity, gun control, and monogamous relationships... and why am I developing a gaycrush on John Barrowman?). The last Doctor Who made me wibbly but not nearly as much as it could have, possibly because Moffat had been calling it a tearjerker for six months before its airdate.

Incidentally Steven Moffat is the recipient of about 90% of my bile these days, and roughly the same amount of my envy. I totally want his job...

I've found having college students who have very strict lights out curfews is inspiring me to more late nights and all-nighters than I should be doing as a responsible, older (than I'd like to admit) adult. If they can't hang out all night dancing their heads loose, somebody must do it for them. If they can't blow a night on the internet, listening to good music and laughing at over-egged jokes, well, I have an obligation.

Stacking up to be one of those days I just hover around the bed. Grab my laptop, take it to the bed. Cook breakfast, haul it back to bed. My primary ambitions are answering emails from students and watching AHS, though, so I have a legit, if lazily constructed, excuse.

Blah, got the whole wrongfootedness feeling that I get hit with whenever I forget to to take the iron and get kinda anemic, like my brain-fluid is low. Mostly I've been watching youtube videos of Never Mind the Buzzcocks and loafing. I have officially given up on AHS, the what-the-fuckery has just gotten irksome.

Can't find a movie we want to see on National Jews Go to the Movies and Get Chinese Takeaway Day. I'm just not sure I can get behind a Lincoln flick that doesn't involve a poor grasp of history and ax-fighting.

I'm actually supposed to have lunch tomorrow at a French and Italian restaurant that I'd passed dozens of times and just thought was a coffee shop. Fingers crossed on it being good, but I honestly haven't had any outright bad restaurant food since I've been here.

It's laaaaaaaate in Finland... and my belly is full of ex-pat x-mas victuals. None of us has been able to move for five hours, we ate so much. I made egg nog for the first time and it worked a treat. Still can't move. Bursting. Oh there you are, Netflix. You were made for moments like this... zzzzzzzzz.
