The presence of dark matter doesnt mean that visible matter is "violating the known laws of motion." It means that either the dark matter is exerting a gravitational force (well-understood) causing the visible matter to move accordingly (the "laws of motion" derided earlier) or else it means our understanding of the gravitational force is wrong, and only visible matter is pulling on visible matter, but the forces are different- but the according motion is due to this force of gravity. Nothing in there contradicts what we know about F=MA. |
