Guillermo del Toro's At The Mountains of Madness

Can it really come through? James Cameron is onboard, which oughta ensure an obscene amount of leverage with the studios; it also signals that they're gonna do some cool visual shenanigans with Lovecraft's shoggies (3D has been mentioned in some interviews). I'm curious to see how this fares: They're going for some of the biggest no-nos in the industry: tentpole horror, hardcore R, period pic, no love interest, unhappy ending.

Needless to say, my cock could put a trumpet to good use right now.

Sounds too good to be true. I'll literally believe it when I see it in the theatre.

Heh, skillfull man, this one. Real shame we'll never see it.
Are there some good movie adaptations of Lovecraftianesque tales? Or, at least, animated movies (it's the only way I see it working)?

Yeah, I've seen some really really good comics adaptations of Lc's stuff. But something that moved would be pretty good.
