If you guys want the full truth, my job has pretty much killed my enthusiasm for the web over the last year or two, and so no, my blog hasn't been updated for a while either. Add to that moving to the US and falling over and paralysing my arm for five months and getting very dark at points, and I stopped really wanting to write about much of anything.

I still write a bunch of crap on Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/plasticbagUK and the plan is to leave my current job in the next few months before it totally kills me, take a few months off and plan my next assault on the world. I'm hoping my love for the internet comes back and I start writing, building, being creative again.

Still popping in now and again. Always depressed to find less and less new content here.

Used to feel that way. Now I feel nothing. But still stop by and check the place out every now and then.

Cheers, Tom. Good luck with it all.

Be well.

If it's not obvious Tom, I want to hug you.

As long as it doesn't hurt your arm.

Me too - but rarely owing to a chang in circumstance. IE, no more office bullshit with plenty barbetime.

Used to feel that way. Now I feel nothing.

And that's why they call him "Dead" Megatron.

Still, I envy you, DM.

I will now be checking in every third Saturday when the tedium of my job starts eating away at what remains of my sanity, and I'm teetering on the brink of tears with the hopelessness of it all (like now).

I was a lurker back in the day and still check in once a month or so ...

May the Force be with you Tom, must say your Tweets are one of the few things that make Twitter worth bothering with for me. Well, yours and the fake Nick Griffin's and those of Mrs Stephen Fry. :>

I still pop in on occasion. All the best, Mr Coates. You're a gentleman and a scholar.

Here less and less. Seems like my internet activity these days is all about reading blogs and posting on secret boards and boards based on stuff I do IRL. Not what I would have imagined back in the day, but it seems to be working pretty well. I wonder if it'll stay that way.

Tom, you seem cool. You always have. I don't really know you, but I've added you to our twitter on that basis.

Hopefully whatever you do with yourself, you'll have fun.

i check in only infrequently now-a-days... this year the universe has supplied me with abyss' (a cycle accident, fracturing ribs and damaging eye nerves) and pinnacles (the arrival nine odd weeks ago of a l'il astro, who is nestling pooing and and vomming in my arms as i write this - better pop off and change nappiy!)

but hi everyone!!

Hope the eyes are doing better

Log in now and again but the board is so depressingly slow that it only really seems to serve as an archive. As an active message board it's the online equivalent of watching paint dry in a coma.

cheers grant and boboss, healing process all but done, so all good on that front - and yay very much loving dadness. nothing prepares you but it is an astounding process and the emotional highs and sleep deprivation lows are all a brilliant package...

not that many people here will read about it... ~

You could start a blog - Dadblog, or something to that effect. In it, you could talk about the unique highs and lows of fatherhood. Then other fathers could be guest bloggers - or you could have parallel blogs from several fathers of children of different ages.

This could be big, dude.

i like that - and i like your name. my dad always said 'it's nice to be nice', and i always took that as a workable life motto. will have to start blogging - something else new in my life!

dadblog.co.uk = "Dadblog is currently sleeping" the top entry is Why America Needs a Jade Goody so it's safe to say it's not going to be that big.

But while we're on the subject my five month old just cut her first tooth, whoop! No sleeping for Quantum!

Barbelith is still up on my bookmarks, but I only click on it maybe once a month, just to make sure it's still here... I haven't really read a thread in a while... I miss it though!

babies? Good work there in continuing humankind

In response to the thing - Only when I remember and usually am drunk and alone, sad but true. Although you're never alone with all your pals on the 'lith or so I heard (think it was some fish based chap who told me, but I forget)

Ever have a favorite bar, and you go there all the time, but then every time you do there seems to be a fight and a general feeling of hostility, so you quit going? And then you stop back in a year or two later and there's nobody in there? And you realize you've changed and you just aren't into hanging out in that bar anymore anyway? (Or maybe just bars in general?)

Yeah, like that.

I stop by every few months, just to see. Don't see much.

Q, it's really strange how you get nostalgic for those sleepless nights. Here's hoping to be rejoining your ranks sometime in late 2010.

Currently we're all about which school.

Seriously, private is the way to go. Something with a uniform, if possible, from the age of about 4. It's completely destigmatised now!
