How can you stop youtube spam?

My friend has made a series of videos on youtube about homeopathy. They have always sparked fiery debate, with those in favor and those against arguing passionately with one another.

But now a sceptic has closed down his comments section altogether, by marking each postiive comment down six times. This has the effect of locking the comment so it can't be opened. As this is happening constantly we think a person or group are deliberately targetting the videos to make sure nothing positive about homeopathy reaches youtube's users.

As bizarre as it sounds there doesn't seem to be an obvious way of stopping this. Does anyone have any ideas?

Wow. That is harsh, man. Have you tried taking the negativity, diluting it in water, taking a drop of that solution, diluting that in water, shaking it about and then taking a drop of that and putting it into Youtube? Metaphorically speaking...

I see what yo mean about the passion. I was looking at youtube for comedy videos, and found a video mocking homeopathy. The comments are a pseudo-science fight zone.

Peach Pie, the only thing that occurs to me is to specifically ask viewers, through the video's description box, to go to the options setting thing right below the video and set it to view "all comments", maybe explaining the situation. I'm surprised this isn't an option video posters themselves can control.

I've been absent mindedly following this since you brought it up, and have since seen the behaviour going both ways. It's an odd way to argue yr case, censorship.
