One version
The men continued to yell at each other after the Dublin/Pleasanton-bound train stopped, and police were in the process of separating the men when the bullet struck Grant, Allison said.
Blatantly false. There were several people with digital recording devices that captured the whole tragedy. Check out the videos on YouTube:
News report
The most illustrative video I've seen thus far is from grinding.be, the story entitled "It's going to get worse before it gets better" is still on the first page. The video they have embedded is awful, you can hear the silence directly after the shot is fired and can see the bewildered policemen's faces.
the officer in question claimed it was an accident (he meant to grab his tazer, apparently) and has since resigned. Numerous protests have been held (some of which became rather violent) and the family is filing a lawsuit.
Holy god. You know, I want to believe the officer. He and the other officers certainly looked shocked after the gun went off. But I can't imagine that there would be no punishment for something like this. |
