So Tuesday Nights BBC1 (Bonekickers slot There is a remake of the creepy 70's Drama Survivors. With Juile Ghrame as Abby.
I caught ep2 on tuesday and due to a combination of factors saw ep1 on the Sign Zone sometime in the wee hours of last night. Its was genuinely creepy and very well handled, Plus it was nice to see manchester turned into a ghost town The only thing thats spoiling it for me is the Ultra Secret Govt Lab which seems to be a add on of so many Dramas these days.
I vagely remeber the 70's version and it was like a harder edged "good life"
I'm suprised its managed to slip in under the radar and not cause more of a stir?
It may suffer as its been compressed into 6 episodes, But so far dosne't seem to be falling into the trap of Week1 Abbeys Story, Week 2 Tims Story ect ect.
Like I've said, I can't see the point of the Goverment Lab (so far) It just smacks of the "Ohhhh its allways the MIB/Govt/Secret Agencys Fault" and is detracting from the real human drama of Good people pushed into unusuall situations.
Like Apparitions the BBC seems to be on the ball at the moment (maybe we can forgive them for Bonekickers). |
