Thought this is really cunning. Here (well, in India really) is a pool with an arial shot of NYC on its bottom. Makes yer think, no? Just a shame it's also an ad for a nasty bank, really. ;>

Actually, since starting this thread I've realised it's not just an ad for a bank, it's a Waterworld rip off too isn't it? Oh dear.

It's kind of pretty, though.
What it made me think of was this (Christian) cult I once visited in the mountains here in Taiwan. They were really into the end of the world, and so on. The place I visited was called something like New Zion and had at one time been a pretty heavily fortified compound, but the Nationalist government didn't take kindly to such things, and had come in with tanks and pulled down all the walls and watchtowers.
Anyway, by the time I was there they had taken a much more welcoming approach, and had an actual visitor centre - dominated by a gigantic oil painting of the world as it would be after the floods, with all these cities under water and only New Zion (presumably still sporting its visitor centre) standing above the waves. Odd place.
