Shall we have a winter Barbiemeet in London? In December? At the Plough?

This is clearly not the place I once signed up to anymore, Barbies.

There was talk of some kind of Barblemeet after some of us trawled round the upcoming Burroughs/Gysin exhibitions in London this December, but nowt has come of it yet. But I'd definitely be up for that or another Barblemeet before Christmas.

Cripes chief, so there was, and some of it was from me wasn't it?! I'd clean forgotted, bless me.

Hmm, what we could easily do is combine a late afternoon/evening meet with a late morning/early afternoon visit to one or more of those exhibitions. Or would it be easier to keep things totally distinct and have a separate thread and separate day for Burroughs/Gysin exhibitions?

However, I would've thought the most important thing to do is decide a day. There aren't that many weekends left between now and Baby Jesus' birthday y'know...

Well, not the weekend of the 20th of December but otherwise I'm plan free...

Yeah, assuming that one's generally out then we have to choose between the weekends of the 6/7th and 13/14th.

Yay! I'm up in London quite a lot at the moment anyway, so I can get a one-week travelcard and let the company pay for my Barbemeet travel expenses. I like my new job.

Between those two weekends, on the Wednesday, which is the Tenth, to be precise, I will be in the Princess Louise for my Special Day. I haven't seen anyone who is on here anywhere near enough, so maybe you would like to come to that?

Cheers pinster, that'd be great. I've always thought you were special everyday though. In the American sense, mind. ;> But siriusly, it's good to have a two-event approach to this, as we can guarantee that not everyone'll make it to a weekend bash that close to Yuletide.

But which weekend...? We need a decision on a day kids, and also... is the Plough going to be big enough? Am I remembering right that last year we were thinking of booking a room but couldn't? Or, if we are to integrate a Burroughs exhibition then we may be in Piccadilly or wherever and nowhere near the Plough anyway...

Oookay, so this is not looking like a goer as a Barbiemeet. So if we make it a Burroughsmeet we at least have something to work with. How would this sat or sunday afternoons suit? That's 13th/14th...

Don't all post at once now...

Right, then. I'll just go. On. My. Own.

Aw.

Alternatively... there are still tickets available for the Pogues at Brixton Academy next Saturday. Just saying.

'Sokay, i was too hungover to move most of this weekend so I have not become Billy No Mates. Yet. And there's still a weekend left before the Xmas nonsense kicks off, so it's not too late to respond to this thread, all those of you who have been struck by sudden apathy syndrome!

But then... the Pogues, you say. Crikey, this will be investigated further. Is anyone definately going to that?

Would've, hadn't it been for the fact that I need to be at Stansted airport at 9.30 am at the latest the following morning. Somehow I cannot contemplate going to a Pogues gig without getting thoroughly trashed on whiskey. So, does not compute.
