Although I still have to sort my passport out I'm off to Poland in January, just a couple of days before my birthday.

Any sights, sounds, tastes, smells and tactilations people can recommend? General Polish holidaying advice is more than welcome too.

My parents took me to auschwitz for my 8th birthday, whilst it was not the best birthday present at the time I'm glad they took me along. I would recommend stopping by.

Krakow is really beautiful and worth the visit, I wasn't very taken by Warsaw. I recall being wowed by the salt mines at Wieliczka near Krakow but I was rather small the last time I was there.
