I don't particularly care about the 'magick' - or even 'ethical' - aspects of this book, nor the whole debate around it. I just have a question regarding the book it's self.
I was at a local new/used bookstore and came across a leather bound, hand-numbered copy that is, apparently, made by the publisher per-order. Mine is #49. Does anyone know how many they made? How much this would go for? Any information? I looked on the internet and couldn't find much of anything on the net aside from info about the paperback copies.
Thank you so much for you help...

Out of curiosity, I dug around. The only mention I could find that included a price put the special edition leather-bound hardcover at 50$ but it didn't mention numbering of any kind, nor how many there are.

Perhaps you can find a website whereby you could email the author and ask? Or call the publisher. *shrugs*

Thanks! I didn't think of contacting the publisher...I guess I...well, long weekend anyhow. I'll do just that! If $50 is the going rate I got a pretty good deal for $9, although it isn't something I'm that interested in, so...
Again, thanks!

Or you might try feigning ignorance and asking in as many occult bookstores as possible how much they would charge a regular customer for such a thing. That may well be an inflated price, as they have margins to worry about, but it'll give you a figure to work with for when you try and e-bay it or whatever. Here in the UK there is a tiny number of occult bookstores like London's Treadwells which specialise in rare and out of print editions, I'm sure there are similar places in the states.

Everything else I found said roughly 9$, but that seemed always to refer to the paperback. Perhaps the person you bought it from priced it based on the regular edition?

*shrugs* Not that it matters. You can always put it up on EBay for any bottom price you please. If nobody bids, drop the starter price and try again, eh?

So, I hadn't heard of Leilah Wendell before this thread, actually; what's her(or his) gig, anyway?

I believe that two dollars means a snack to him, but it means a big deal to you. HtH.

I've been too busy to find out any more info on this, but rest assured I'll inform you Barbelith sleuths as soon as I hear from the publisher.
Leilah Wendell is a Necrophiliac. Straight up and for real. She has a couple of books published (this one and 'The Book of Azrael' or something) and she writes a zine about it. She was featured in the Adam Parfrey book Apocalypse Culture II and is good friends with Karen Greenlee - another necrophiliac who was featured in the first Apocalypse Culture book.
Yeah.
