This Sunday
02:10 / 06.10.08
So it is, so it is. I can't believe I couldn't turn it up on google.

I guess there are worse things than having Mama Cass stuck in your head.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
02:12 / 06.10.08
Yeah, I think so. At least she's cheerful.

Saint Keggers
02:13 / 06.10.08
I got friends in low places,
where the whiskey drowns and the beer chases my blues away, and Ill be ok. Im not big on social graces, think Ill slip on down to oasis, cause I got friends in low places.

Ah the benefits of spending summers in the country.

This Sunday
02:18 / 06.10.08
I can do a lot of country. I mean, I have to as a matter of honor and pedigree. But Garth Brooks just never sat right with me. I'd pay real money to see him and Alan Jackson go at it in a chainfight, though.

Heck, when you get down to it, Pantera are more country than Brooks.

Saint Keggers
02:24 / 06.10.08
And Kris Kristofferson could still kick Pantera's ass!

This Sunday
02:27 / 06.10.08
Again, if there were chains involved? Real. Money.

Saint Keggers
02:41 / 06.10.08
sleep time for me goodnight all

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
02:42 / 06.10.08
Ah, the romance of a chain fight. Brings a tear to my eye.

Night, Kegs. Sleep tight.

This Sunday
02:47 / 06.10.08
Night, Keggers. Getcher Dracula-fighting rest.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
02:49 / 06.10.08
Improper dancing! In the middle of the street!

Saint Keggers
02:33 / 07.10.08
Do David Bowie and Mick Jagger know about it?

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
05:19 / 07.10.08
So anyway, Doris, or Mabel, or whoever, I've been drinking the Gin, which is to say I've had a little reunion tour with Mama Gin. Which is to say: more satisfying and smooth than any family reunion of recent memory, particularly as I've been indulging in Salinger's Franny and Zooey and therefore (indeed) feel rather erudite, unsettled, aroused, and otherwise inclined toward the late shift.

Not reciting prayers alone in your room, over and over and over?

I'm so out of it. Encapsulate so I can play too, please.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
00:34 / 11.10.08
Electric Six.

Let me tell you of places faraway...

This Sunday
01:11 / 11.10.08
Hiya, people!

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
01:14 / 11.10.08
Have you found yourself more bourbon and beyond-PG imaginings yet?

This Sunday
01:16 / 11.10.08
Working hard on it.

There's been enough whisky though, that I finally stopped kicking myself for throwing the cell phone in soup. Jim Beam loves me, you know. He's my special friend.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
01:18 / 11.10.08
He and Mama Gin kiss occasionally, or so the boys say down at the bar.

I'm formulating ideas relating to the next FEM theme (and great acronym!), thankfully. They just started tonight, so maybe I'll be banging out something on my four days off next week (while studiously avoiding grad school applications).

This Sunday
01:21 / 11.10.08
Grad school apps are probably best avoided. Not functionally, perhaps, but emotionally?

I'm supposed to get on IM tonight and help a friend through re-applying as she's decided to shift focus. I suspect lots of "Just do what you feel you have to" and "Just do it" until I read like a Tony Robbins' Nike commercial.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
01:29 / 11.10.08
Emotionally. I've been doing bits and pieces in stages. I think life would be easier if we all had administrative assistants and Greek choruses who show up and cheer us on.

This Sunday
01:37 / 11.10.08
Don't underestimate the support of Mama Gin, there.

Soldier on, y'know, soldier on.

This Sunday
01:40 / 11.10.08
It has occured to me, that Dark Knight Strikes Again Batman really looks like Denny O'Neill with a very sharp cape.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
01:40 / 11.10.08
That reminds me, I need to pick up a bottle of Mama soon.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
01:44 / 11.10.08
Tonight, the library is full of "Won't somebody think of the children!" people. I'm getting a headache from their freaking out.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
01:44 / 11.10.08
It's also hard to take someone's concerns about their child's reading habits seriously when they let their twelve-year-old wander around in the dark, in the worst part of town, on a Friday night, by themselves.

This Sunday
01:53 / 11.10.08
B-b-b-but they might read a dirty word! Or stumble onto warm crushy swoony scenes in Rubyfruit Jungle or Batman/Superman and turn superhero.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
01:54 / 11.10.08
It was about the sweetest kid, too. He reads a lot of manga, which has all kinds of weird-by-North-American-standards stuff in it. I feel bad for him.

This Sunday
02:00 / 11.10.08
It truly does suck.

I'm sort of eternally grateful my mom never really cared what I was reading as a kid.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
02:08 / 11.10.08
He's in a lot -- he's one of those kids who apparently isn't allowed to be home by himself, so he just wanders around -- so I'll probably remind him he can read stuff here without having to take it out.

I thought it was cute that while she was complaining she was handing in his mangas and he was reading Gravitation, so she's apparently saving him from the perils of yaoi.

Normally I quite like her even if we tend to worry about him not eating enough -- he had a fainting spell a few months ago -- so I'm probably just grumpy about it.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
02:16 / 11.10.08
We've also had people looking at porn on the internet stations tonight, so it's been a banner evening. I wanna go home.

This Sunday
02:17 / 11.10.08
Oh, comics, when will you stop perverting the youth?

And now I want a Wertham vs Japan short. One lone, desperate nut with a thousand manga readers walking by as he rants on a street corner.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
02:23 / 11.10.08
That would be an awesome short comic. It'd be great for one of those POPGUN! anthologies. Actually, they're really cranky out evil comic anthologies.

This Sunday
02:31 / 11.10.08
I'm hoping we get more (or, better) comics submissions for the second FEM volume. Angry, or otherwise.
