Hi chaps,

I'm just whacking this thread up for those of you who avoid Policy. Me, Quantum and some of the other intrepid explorers around here wanted to like sort out the slow, tepid content of barbelith at the moment. We thought we might launch an initiative where we ask people to contribute/check out a forum more than usual for a week at a time. We're starting with Switchboard, hopefully with some discussion of the American elections and the current activity in Russia. Hopefully this will continue and we'll move onto Laboratory, Books and Music, maybe some other fora.

Anyway we're going to need a bit of a consensus to make this successful so it would be great if you could pop over to Switchboard over the next day or so and talk about politics, maybe start a thread or just chat about the subject.

There's also a bit of a move to start current event threads in various fora which also sounds like a step in the right direction.

Are you up for this? See any problems? It would be good to hear from you on the subject in either this or the Policy thread. Thanks!

Hopefully I don't come off as a complete idiot in the Switchboard, but there you go.

I'm also making an effort to post in threads or start threads that I've been meaning to recently, but haven't due to ennui or frustration with certain aspects of Barbelith. I feel some energy coming back.

I'm sure you'll be fine! We all look like idiots in Switchboard occasionally, there was a time some years ago when I thought Randy was going to eviscerate me because of an offhand comment about the complicity of the populace. You know I think he was right to call me on that.

I'm just bumping this in case people haven't seen either of the threads. Thanks!
