Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
02:26 / 01.08.08
Sounds like a lot of fun. Is it coming easily to you? I have some ideas I've been thinking on today that I might fire onto a word processor document when I get home tonight...

This Sunday
02:35 / 01.08.08
Surprisingly easy. I think it's going to act as a personal retirement of some tropes, which means nothing to audience, since I barely have one that follows my work, but fuels the writing immensely.

And it's a callback/response piece to a lot of other peoples/groups' tropes, including directly tackling what I consider the schism beside fantasy and magical realism, the canon-making standards of Native Lit, and trying to make didacicism valid and useful in a 21st Cent. context. Plus dead birds full of wires, the fear of youth, the fear of the old, true love versus some other kinds, and in the end, trust in the time of movies.

It couldn't be easier or move viral-ly me, if I just cut and pasted my Barbelith posts together at random.

Arrrgh. I never notice the page 2 and sit iddly by waiting for something new to be posted.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
02:44 / 01.08.08
It's your personal milieu.

I'm working on weird stuff with monsters that aren't horror-monsters.

This Sunday
02:47 / 01.08.08
There's always room for good monster fiction.

Of course, my copy of Nightbreed is sitting atop the TV waiting to be rewatched, and that's halfway between the two sorts, in its weird, studio-hobbled little way.

Bastard wasp just stung my little lad during his four o'clock feed. He's gone back to sleep while I'm stalking the living room, revenge in mind. This is my white whale...

This Sunday
03:08 / 01.08.08
Tell me you were gesturing when you posted that, Jawsus. And that someone was working the bongos!

Saint Keggers
03:14 / 01.08.08
But where do you buy such teeny-tiny harpoons?

This Sunday
03:22 / 01.08.08
Teeny-tiny harpoon shop?

This Sunday
03:38 / 01.08.08
Oh, c'mon now. Bad? Yes. But, bad enough to kill the shift?

Saint Keggers
03:43 / 01.08.08
(insert sound of crickets)

This Sunday
03:44 / 01.08.08
Apparently.

Saint Keggers
03:48 / 01.08.08
You? You killed Nothing! MUwhwhahahahaha!

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
04:02 / 01.08.08
I'm not calling nobody Ishmael, thank you darlings.

I'm watching New Who and debating this scene I've been working on.

Saint Keggers
04:04 / 01.08.08
Oooh. New Who! awesome. Have you gotten to the scene where he's forced to kill off Ros.. no. I'd better not spoil it for you.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
04:06 / 01.08.08
I'm watching the Borges-ripoff episodes at the moment.

This Sunday
04:11 / 01.08.08
I have a mad urge to immerse myself in a bunch old-Who. Tom Baker. I need more scarf in my life.

Hallo, Paper Spaceboy
04:26 / 01.08.08
We all need a little more scarf in our lives. I wish it was Fall, so I could wear one without heat-deathing.

Saint Keggers
04:28 / 01.08.08

This Sunday
04:54 / 01.08.08

Anybody shifting?

I've come to an impasse in my one-day-overdue short story.

Saint Keggers
00:31 / 02.08.08
I'm now shifting. and editing photos and watching American Masters, Annie Leibovitz - Life Through a Lens.

What seems to be the problem with your story?

This Sunday
00:36 / 02.08.08
Hiya everybody!

Since the alternative is to keep dancing with the dog and waiting for a call that probably isn't coming, I thought some shifting might be good.

Saint Keggers
00:41 / 02.08.08
Some shifting is always good.

Liger Null
00:43 / 02.08.08
Hey there Keggers and Deca!

What seems to be the problem with your story?

Well for one thing, it's at least a day late. Also, the main character lost his doppelganger and I can't figure out how he's going to find it.

Plus, I can't figure out how to end the story. I saw The Prestige recently and, taking my cue from that, I know how it's supposed to end. But I don't want to do that, as it would make the main character more of an asshole than I want him to be.

This Sunday
00:44 / 02.08.08
How's the documentary, Keggers?

And, LN, much luck on your story progress.

Liger Null
00:51 / 02.08.08
What documentary?

Saint Keggers
00:52 / 02.08.08
Not too bad. Nothing new or insightful yet. How's the dog at dancing?

LN, have you thought about having cops arest the doppleganger and main character watching himself being hauled away on tv. I hate when that hapens.

Liger Null
00:54 / 02.08.08

LN, have you thought about having cops arrest the doppleganger

Dude! You just gave me an idea!!!!

This Sunday
00:57 / 02.08.08
What Documentary? = American Masters, Annie Leibovitz - Life Through a Lens

Keggers, the dogs better than I am. I have been pwned as the kids are saying.

Saint Keggers
00:58 / 02.08.08
Wow. You'd think he'd (she'd?) be worse, literally having two left feet.

Liger Null
01:07 / 02.08.08
Yeah, but she also has two right feet, so it balances out.

This Sunday
01:09 / 02.08.08
You see my shame, then.
