Hokaben is a new music festival in the heart of London's east end at the 93ft East venue, Brick Lane. The idea is to have a festival in our capital city bringing together the weirdest / heaviest / craziest / most awesome underground bands on the planet under one roof with not a foppish indie band or yawnsome postrock band in sight. It’s all happening over the weekend of 7th, 8th & 9th November – so make sure you put that in your diaries. There’s only 750 tickets so get buying NOW music fans.

Well I only recognise Todd and Mugstar but I really liked both of them so I will gingerly profess my gameness. But I'd need to know who will be on which day, whether a ticket covers all of it or just a day, where do we buy them from and how much for? Is there a website or do we get 'em from the venue itself?

Indeed, it does look extremely good - Apatt are one of the greatest bands on the planet and that's not something I say lightly. Many of the other acts fall into the "definitely worth seeing" category.
However, actually going is another matter. It's a shame you can't buy day tickets. November 8th is my birthday though, so maybe I'll go......

I'm sad that Neptune seem to have the Firefly slot. They deserve much more than to be pitted against the Flowers/Corsano Duo, and they're touring at the moment which means that Neptune fans may well be able to see them elsewhere.

Every band I saw was brilliant. Highlights (for me) were Aufgehoben, Flowers/Corsano Duo, the Arkestra, Neptune (only a slight conflict as the main stage overran), Acid Mothers Temple, DJ Scotch Egg, Boduf Songs and the Illegal Seagul room on Saturday. I didn't go on the Friday, but I can lay safe money on Mugstar having been awe inspiring. And I got stuck in traffic and missed Team Brick, but I'll be playing drums for him for a London show later this month so I don't feel too bad about it.
