The Quiet Weekend

Is it just because so many people post from work, or are they all out doing far more interesting things with their weekends? Well, I'm here at work, and I want someone to talk to me dammit!

Is there anybody out there?

Zoom.

Oh I'm here.
Stuck in work and climbing the walls. And we're showing Hudson Hawk tonight.
Hudson.
Fucking.
Hawk.

Hows life with you Zoom?

I'm here...but only because I'm drying laundry.

My weekend looks like relative quietness. The only things I've done today is smoke cigarettes and drink coffee with my favoritest gay boy ever, went to the gym for a couple of hours, then did laundry. Now I am drying laundry.

And eating leftover couscous with pita bread.

Oh yes, I did buy Girl Scout cookies.

I fear that aside from afternoon drinking tomorrow with the bestest gay boy ever, my weekend will be pretty D-U-L-L.

All of my weekends are like that. I can't remember the last time I actually had a mad do-everything weekend.

Today, I've made a dirty phone call, cut my own hair, and watched Full Metal Jacket on DVD. That, for me, is extremely active.

LIfe is quiet and dull.
Actually, I'm talking to this guy right now who seems to think he can control electricity. I shit you not.
But he's got this really attractive girl with him, who's probably far far too young for me to be looking at, but whatever.

Oops, gotta go, they're coming to the counter.

Okay, they're gone. That was fucked up. He said if he won the lottery he'd get claws implanted like Wolverine.

At first I thought he was winding me up, you know, but he kept going and talking about becoming a super-hero.

Wow.

I'm a little scared.

So Zoom, you just had someone who thinks he controls electricity and a wolvie wannta be?

Is this normal for most comic shops?

But everyone knows Wolverines claws are made of adamentium covered bone...if he doesn't have claws already hes fucked.

I fucking hope not. Nobody told me there'd be days like these, as a great man once said.

I swear, I'm still not sure if he was fucking with me, but I don't think so. He said he's going into the illustration program at the local college and liked all the gory stuff that McFarlane used to do with Spawn.

Agh. He really thought he could become a super-hero. That's so odd. And I had to be nice to him.

Whats the street price on adamentium anyway?

About the same as unstable molecules I hear.

Oh, such a geek joke. I am unsaveable.

That's a little obscene, don't you think?

But seriously, do you think Thor's packing or what? Or is it a case of beautiful body and face coupled with a shrinky dink?

(Can't wait for everyone to come back from the weekend and see this. Go on, mock me. I don't care!)

He doesn't have to have claws as long as he doesn't want them retractable? Of course, even if he could get retractable claws, there's the whole healing factor thing to consider. Wolverine's claws make new holes in his hands every time he "pops" them. Thus, this guy would be seriously fucked as he probably doesn't have a healing factor so he'd have gigantic holes in his hands.

(God, I feel like a pathetic Wolverine fanboy)

I think Thor packs it alright. In Hercules' ass.

Fabio with a giant cinderblock hammer complete with braided leather handle and a buff, curly haired brunette beefcake in a studded leather vesty sort of thing. Does the Comic Code know what goes on in the heavens?

Why does it have to be Hercules? I bet its Loki. That whole public antagonistic relationship they've got going on is just a front. Privately, they're really quite close to each other.

According to this novel that we never got around to discussing for the book club, Pyrrhus, the gods have *very tiny* members in inverse proportion to how potent their seed is.

But I am *so busy* having a fab weekend myself, only slightly marred by the fact that I didn't close the car door all the way when I took the cats to the vet on Wednesday & now the car is deader than a doornail; so here we are in the house, listening to the wind howl...

Geez, I thought you'd typo'd the word "cat" and typed "car". And that your cat was dead. Gah.

I think "The Tiny Members" would be a great band name.

So I'm doing my orders for April, which I'm not sure I'll actually place since I don't know if I'll actually be here or not, but I came across this comic called "Zoom's Academy for the Super Gifted". I'm going to start a thread about it soon.

Well the problem is, when we sold the old car we left the jumper cables in the old car. So we have no cables and we must scream.

We're waiting for the neighbors to get home.

Hang on. This is a weird synchronicity.

I'll get my friend here who thinks he can control electricity to come down and jump start your car.

It all comes together my friends.

(Well, except that bit about Thor's pee-pee)

Who needs jumper cables?

Just call your neighborhood MacGyver.

You do have a neighborhood Macgyver...right?

I was told everyone had one.

My big plan for the day is tracking down a hard drive. Best Buy had an 80GB 7200rpm Western Digital for $125 after mail in rebate but they didn't have any in stock last time I was there. Todays the last day for the rebate so if they don't have it in Im going to have to go with a 40GB drive from someplace else.

Well, ladies and gents, I'm off very soon to go pick up a bunch of books and albums for free. Thanks for chatting with me this afternoon. Hope I'll see at least a few of you here tomorrow.
