Anybody still interested in a bit of fantasy premier league fun around here? I know we had a league a while back which yielded at least four or so participants, but which I then sadly neglected due to laziness and other such magnificent excuses.

So what say you? Pick all your favourites and then complete your team with such luminaries as Dean Windass from the mighty Hull, the guile and wit of Jimmy Bullard, the hair and scrabble playing proficiency of Dave Kitson and so on. Such wonderful teams that we could only dream of.

At present the league is called "Yarrr" but this is open to change and, indeed, suggestion. The code for joining is 209210-73256.

I am torn between trying the Guardian FL and sticking with what I'm comfortable with. Were I a less lazy man, I'd go for both, but seeing as I'm not I thought I'd see how it fares this year and potentially flee the old one later.

I have lodged a last minute entry, which is why I appear to have the spanner league leaders. I will still appear to have such a team next week after I have had time to think more seriously about my choices, but at least that will be deliberate. Robinson as captain was in no way an accident. It was a masterstroke, and you will all come to see this in time. Selecting the injured Fabregas while leaving Torres on the bench is designed to address certain 'dressing room issues' which I wanted to nip in the bud early...
