Qalyn: You know, it's great to have a chance to talk about this. I was doing an interview for the Los Angeles Sun last week, and we had this whole thing where I was talking about THACO, and he thought I was talking about tacos, and he ended up asking whether it was difficult to be a hispanic American in Hollywood, and whether that was why I'd changed my name. It's a crazy city, you know?
A lot of people know that I'm Danny Elfman's niece, but I think fewer people know that I am a direct descendant of Thranduil, King of Mirkwood. Butala is actually an elf name from, like, Croatia. I'm just really glad that I live in a country where, regardless of your race, your appearance or the kind of life-enhancing religious group and self-realisation academy you might belong to, you can be a success. |
