Hey all,

First post, so be kind...

Here goes....

So, I went to see the magnificent Mark Watson last week and came to the conclusion there's no better way to spend an evening out than at a comedy club. When it's good, that is - I'm not talking hideous office outing meccas like Jongleurs, but proper comedy clubs.

So, what's the best experience y'all have had at such an evening? The best venue and why is it the best venue? The best act you've seen? Best female act you've seen? Worst act?

Phew. That wasn't too scary.

The one that excited me most was Johnny Vegas in about 1996. That would be at Alexanders Jazz Cafe in Chester. I was a student then and he was terrifying. A close second was Mark Thomas who I made the mistake of heckling and didn't hear the end of it. I made him laugh at one point though and he applauded me in the bar afterwards.

For personal reasons a caberet act I was involved in was memorable. We used to do sketches as various couples such as Ginger and Posh Spice and Di and Fergie. After Di's death we did Windsor and Windsor (deceaser) and a very polite but very angry middle aged woman told me off afterwards but then later got drunk and came on to me.
