Hello there, Rage. Congratulations on the new album. Tell me, how did you make it, in terms of actually putting the sounds down and then preparing them for release? What did you do for production? Also, how do you think technology - myspace, for example, or digital downloading more generally. Do you think it's easier for artists to get their music out there, and is that balanced by the struggle to create a decent payment model?

I have older influences but my project is not a tribute to the late 90's. The thing that pissed me off about that era was that so few females were at the front of angry electronic music. They were being angry with punk instead.

I think "The Wire", but, yeah. You're quite right that if people want to listen to a track from your album they can go to your myspace page, and you're apparently not going to talk about the music itself, so I thought it might be interesting to ask about the process of putting together, releasing and promoting an album with a small budget. Things, after all, have moved on from my day, when we used to press vinyl and go round record shops asking them to stock a couple of copies.

You know what? This place has moved on, contributor-wise. A lot of the old guard don't come around here anymore. Most people reading this thread are not going to have more than the sketchiest idea who you are--they aren't going to say to themselves, "Oh hey, Rage has been busy, let's go and see what she's been up to." You're going to have to work a wee bit harder if you want to grab people's interest. So why not start with the inroads into discussion that you've just been handed? Maybe people would be more likely to go to your website if you bothered to tell them a little bit about your work. Otherwise, you look like just another spammer dumping a link and moving on.
