I should start by saying that my girlfriend is a potter. She is just about to start pursuing her master's degree in Fine Arts, and concentrates on pottery. Really nice pieces that involve birds. Lots, and lots, of birds. She raises chickens and has a couple of parrots, but I'm sure that has nothing to do with it...

Anyway. For the last couple of years, I've been helping her out whenever she and a group of other people fire their anagama (wood fire) kiln. It's a week long, fairly intensive process, and she (and the others) have been pushing me to make something to put in the kiln.

My own lack of art skills and a good dose of self-conciousness have stopped me so far, but this time around I finally got around to making something; a little bear with a demon-thing popping up out of its back (the idea being that the demon is possessing the bear, but not in a bad way.) I also made a tiny little kiln-ocopia. As soon as I get around to taking some decent pictures, I'll toss up a link.

And now... you. =)

i am currently performing in my first venture into theatre - incl as a young tyke, i never di the school play thing. it is a world premiere production of roger water's (pink floyd's) 'the wall'. we've a 12 piece band live on stage and a 20+ cast. and the light show is something, i'm told - we are in the middle and can't see - can't weait to get my dvd of it apre show...

here are some pics... i am one of a picnicking couple, a teacher, a record exec (the director has included a couple tracks from 'wish you were here' to flesh out the story and i sing 'have a cigar'. cool!) and various ensemble bits. novel, exhilarating, challenging and lots of fun! we've got shows wed to sat this week, then the after show party.

i did it to get myself back into the realm of music 'n stuff, having had a falling out (ain't lust a bitch) with my last band a couple years ago and getting antsy for some more. saw the ads for the auditions and here i am...

everyone should do some theatre some time.
